Between 19 and 25 October 2026, I’ll be taking on an incredible adventure—cycling across rugged tracks and wide‑open landscapes that showcase the raw beauty of the Australian outback. It’s far more than a physical challenge for me; it’s the kind of experience that settles into your memory and stays there, long after the dust has settled.

I’m riding to support the ARA Endowment Fund, a long‑term charitable initiative created to make a genuine and lasting difference in Australian communities. With a vision to grow to $10 million and beyond, it will continue to uplift the organisations doing meaningful work across the country.

After signing up  on the day the event opened I have had some health challenges that may have kept me off the ride, the GREAT news is that I have been cleared by the doctor for not only the event but also the preperation for the event.

While it may sound like a fun ride in the outback, anyone who has spent consecutive days in the saddle on a dirt road covering 80+ks knows this is as much hard work as it is fun!

I have been keeping my fitness up somewhat on Zwift (remember I am in Melbourne and the weather is sh*t) and the occational ride at the YouYangs so I am not coming in totally unprepared but there is a massive difference from doing an hour or so on a trainer or some hill climbs on the weekend and spending 5 or so hours continuous riding.

The other challenge is the commitment to raise funds for Endowment Fund, $10,000 target in itself is no mean feat and I could really use your help given time is short and the deadline is real.

Any donation would be great from individuals and for the customers we support in field services this is where you can show your organisations commitment to supporting those in the community who really need it and show the world (or at least a part of it) how much you care.

I will be reaching out to some of you directly for a commitement and putting the hard word on you!
